Interested in Serving at The Station?

Here are the different ways you can get involved at The Station Church.

Just Come!

The best way to get involved at The Station is to walk in the door. We can always use some extra hands–to serve and clean, yes– but also to love on people and build community with our friends downtown.

Provide a Meal

If you are interested in helping to cook or provide a meal at The Station, you can take a look at our calendar to see what nights we need a meal, and then contact us to coordinate details.

Help Serve

If you have a group of people who would like to come serve dinner and participate in our church service, it is best to reach out to us first to coordinate details by contacting us first.

Donate Items

Scroll down to see the list of items we love blessing our friends downtown with. Feel free to stop by any Wednesday or Sunday evening between 6:00p – 7:30p.

If you have a group that is interested in taking on a special service volunteer project, please contact us to coordinate details.

Helpful Donations

The Station Church has a clothing closest to help meet the immediate needs. If you would like to donate items to The Station, feel free to stop by any Wednesday or Sunday evening between 6:00p – 7:30p. If you need to make other arrangements for drop off, please contact us.

Please, do not leave donations outside at our building. They probably will NOT be there when we get back.

Amazon List

We have made an Amazon list of essential items we regularly use to bless our friends downtown. Many of the items on the list are also items we often in short supply of.

Please, do not ship items to our building. If you would like to ship items directly to The Station, reach out to us via our Contact page to coordinate details.

Clothing Donations

We always need men’s pants, especially jeans, primarily for sizes 30-36.

The best clothes for our friends downtown are casual and comfortable shirts and pants for both men and women. This includes t-shirts, polos, tops for women, work shirts, shorts, jeans, slacks and other more casual clothes.

It is most helpful when clothes are still in good conditions with no holes or visible stains. Yes, people in need will wear stained clothes with a lot of holes, but the old saying, “the clothes make the man,” is still true. People want to feel good about themselves and finding a new shirt and pants go a long way to helping our friends feel “human” again.

Socks!

White, gray or black socks. Our friends always need them. Without access to laundry facilities, our friends burn through socks very quickly. We will gladly take donations of socks because we give away so many of them.

Blankets

Regardless of the temperature outside, we always need blanks at The Station.

In the winter, a warm blank helps provide protection from the cold air and often even colder ground. In the summer, blankets help provide shade and relief from mosquitoes and other insects.

New or Lightly Used Shoes

Our friends always need shoes because they walk a lot!

This is why our greatest need is for new or lightly used shoes that are comfortable for walking. SIzes 8-11 for Men and 6-9 for women are our most common sizes.

There is also need for black, non-slip tennis shoes and work boots.

Shoes that are excessively old or are very well worn typically do not last very long for our friends.

Travel-Sized Toiletries Items

Travel-size toiletries items are small and lighter to carry. If you were carrying all your positions on your shoulders, 2 lbs of shampoo can feel like a lot.

Our fiends are blessed by any common toiletry item:

  • Soap
  • Toothbrush
  • Tooth paste
  • Shampoo
  • Condition
  • Lotion
  • Body Wash
  • Razors
Mosquito Spray!

Every year, after a few weeks of showers, the mosquitos come out in full force to torture our friends downtown. We can always use extra can of mosquito spray (deep woods versions are best) to help our friends get through mosquito season, which in Corpus Christi can happen almost any time.

Seasonal Winter Items

Beanie caps, gloves, jackets, and especially hooded sweatshirts. We collect these items year round, but especially in the winter/colder months.

In Corpus Christi, there are roughly 3-4 months of the yearly that are filled with warm days and cool nights. As beautiful as these days are, they are difficult for our friends who have to carry around heavy jackets and blankets during hot days in preparation for the cold nights. For a variety of reasons, during these months, our friends downtown go through a lot of jackets and blankets.
